Learning SEO can be done the easy way or hard. The easy way requires you to tap the services of SEO experts and learn from them, while the hard way is getting into it all by yourself. I learned SEO by accident, never really intending to become the self-professed expert that I am. But despite the cheap route I made, I am doing rather well if I say so myself.

What I am about to say, please take it as a reference guide only. What I have experienced, the success and good fortune that I have, is not guaranteed to happen to you. So take all that I say with a grain of salt lest your results differ from mine.

My SEO tale starts a few months after launching my own online business. The service I was offering was strong and I firmly believed that a whole slew of people would be clamoring for my services. But after a few stolid months of dismal sales, I knew I needed to do something to help perk my online business up. But what can I do? My budget is low, how can I market it?

I did some searching around, until I stumbled upon several blog sites that discussed how to improve one’s online business. SEO was the name of the game, and I snatched it all up. Now, before all this, I was a non-believer of search engine optimization, thinking it was all a useless gimmick. But with my desperate situation, what have I to lose? The only way to go from where I was, was up.

I became a regular visitor to these blogs, and after months of reading through each blog’s archives and keeping myself up to date with each new post, I found myself armed with SEO knowledge potent enough to make a difference. So I applied all that I learned. From building links, to video optimization and everything else in between. I worked on everything SEO for a solid two weeks.

Lo and behold, after a few weeks of this, my sales went up. Not by much, but enough for me to take notice. I didn’t attribute it first with the SEO, but when sales exploded I analyzed what had happened. Turned out, the SEO worked and I was in the front page of Google. Amazing. So until now, I keep on doing SEO, learning all new things about it, and applying everything I learn. I want to have the number one position and keep it there.
